Blogging, to take over the world.
The object is to teach an old dog new tricks. (not much hope ... )

The comments today about blogging and bloggers were ...

negative ?

I would like to disagree. (Then I would disagree about almost anything - one fifth Irish.)

Blogging is a personal journey into an area which interests the blogger, or an universe into which to vent - whatever.

The reading of blogs have aided me more than many would appreciate, as others have the same malady, madness, or misery, and then it makes a bit more sense, if there is sense to be made - why ?

We are all humans and we all share the same earth - in each his/her own way.

Blogging is almost writing, as free-verse is almost poetry.

The discussion about Playboy and renowned authors brought back a little story from way back. This story should be on its own, as it about my own son, and he deserves his own spot in the sun.

The subject of writing came up again in another forum.
This subject has a habit of popping up every now and then.
Some seem to be born as writers, the novelist - long and short, poets, lyric writers.
A few achieve fame by name or by effort, others fill the shelves of libraries, or dustbins, with their efforts.
Then a few develop writing as a means of expressing their trade, expertise, or ideas.

This way we keep an industry going, the industry of the written word.

We all (who wants to) need to find our place in it, our private or public corner, our niche.

There is only one way - do it!

One catches no fish as an armchair fisherman, yet one could send out for fish.

Not quite the same is it ?

When I am asked, What was it like living with your father? My tongue swells up and I squeak out words like, thrilling or complicated. I've given the question a lot of serious thought and I have a good answer: It was like living with an elephant for 15 years that was trying to give birth to something twice its size.

Some give birth, and so many carry the baby to their grave.

so ... somehow the Saturday night treat went that-a-way, it was never loaded, someone was supposed to, someone did not.

The moment is gone, and now we will try to recreate the feeling. This is writing, recalling the past and making it the present.

It was a Saturday, the day of games, the day when herds of people gather to the arenas to see man's battle.

Man battling himself, the elements, another man, or some form of opponent, why - even a bull may do - and the word 'ball' comes into its own.

Men and their balls - in this case - a rugby ball.

My family are of the kind who will look to the god of sport who adorns the television set, serve the god burnt offerings (barbeque), bowls of exquisite delight from far away lands such as pop corn, peanuts, corn puffs, candy, and jerky (biltong), add drinks from all fountains, the list is too long to bother with.

This is the scene, one side against the other, battle lines are drawn, war wear is donned - in their own colors, and the whistle blows, or whatever sets them off.

And side one does this, and side two does that - and there is a referee, who is the 'law' - all doing their thing. The crowd goes mad, the game is on, excitement is in the air, and then, a WINNER is declared, and everyone goes home, till next time.

All of this, at the cost of a small country's budget, and the poor stays poor, and the rich gets richer, that is the way of this world.

- We all love WINNERS -

In all of this, I forgot to press the 'Save'.

Now I have to re-do it.

"Life's battles don't always go to the stronger or faster man. But sooner or later the man who wins, is the man who thinks he can." - Vince Lombardi

or

"To hell with circumstances, I create opportunities!" - a famous quote by Bruce Lee.

My aunt asked me what is the state of our health, that is the official opposition (0p) and moi.

I answered that in the case of the Op, for a healthy person, she takes a lot of pills - and as for moi, a sick person, I take none.

And we are both just fine, thanks for asking.

The business of the legal minds is still going on. It is amazing how much right is required to fix one wrong. The wrongs are getting to be more and more wrong, and the rights are still not sorting the wrongs. Still - there is a light up ahead - it may be a saving beacon in the darkness or the smashing clash of a train accident.

Time will tell.

The pups ended up at the count of seven.
The snails keep on being more, and still a proper name is not available.
Kittens are doing well.
The latest is a batch of Gecko eggs, and the first hatched today, too cute for words.

For those in the know, the last thing a person will see, will be a bright light.
A few stories have done the rounds about people coming 'back' or seeing 'the light' and then going on with their lives.

Why the darkness again, it is supposed to be Valentines Day.

Once certain things change, they changed forever, if forever is forever, or till we meet again. Let us ignore these dark days and remember, every dark cloud has a silver lining.

Well, we can try ...

♫ ♫ ♪
People talking without speaking,
People hearing without listening,
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dare
Disturb the sound of silence.

Paul Simon's song 'The Sounds of Silence'

This has been a dark month for many, one only notices such things if one reads the news or live in the world of man.

The solution to all the woes of the world is to stick ones head in the sand and build castles there.

Sand castles have no substance to them, yet these are so much fun to make, and so pretty as can be.

Kings and Queens, Princes and Princesses, and a knave or three, add a few stories which start 'Once upon a time ... ' then garnish with Evil Witches, a dragon with fire, and an ogre in the woods, round it all off with a happy ending.

Clap the hands with glee - happy as can be - only shut the door and keep the world out.

For outside there be reality, and it ain't your friend.

We all come into this world for our allotted time, then to depart.

The how and why is what we ask questions about, the answers are not clear, yet we still ask.

Each to his or her own, again we will ask, and the stories are unclear.

Is this all written or can one choose - this will be all unclear until, maybe; one day.

Till then, we can only tell the tales, the stories of others, till 'THE END'.

On a lighter note;

The snail business is growing bigger and bigger, more types, more eggs, more babies, and still there is so much to learn.

This is fun.

The year is already as old as can be, and nothing much has happened.

The world is supposed to be moving in a direction, my direction, there where I want it to go. And what happens - nothing - not a thing, and I am waiting - patiently.

Two weeks old, and the world is still on holiday.

The snail farm is growing at a snail's pace, as is to be expected, and yet I am happy with it.

Soon the slither of little slithers will be heard, and still have to find out how to milk the snails ...

I can see the $$$$ pouring in as gallons of Snail's Product will become available.

The sky is the limit, if only the snails could start moving a bit faster.

Another venture which will be looked into; will be the crossing of a chicken with a chongololo ( the giant African millipede ) where the end result will be a chicken with multiple drumsticks.

The results to date has been a rooster who has four legs.

As to what the rooster tastes like - is still a mystery, as nobody has been able to catch it.

This should be a good year, considering all 'n all.

All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.

And this is the day after the day before, things sometimes change overnight.

The one dog decided to have pups, four of them so far.
The snail laid a batch of eggs - (do snail lay eggs ?) - anyways, there's a heap of snail eggs there, tiny cute little green eggs, bright green at that.
Two feral Siamese cats have moved in as well. Kittens, more hair and very little cat, we are suckers for such. A boy and a girl, as you were asking.

2013 is now officially on the go, the undertaking is to get it done without too much effort from my end (resolution) which means someone will be paid to do it.
Methinks; review the situation, it will be bad enough as it is, without adding bankcruptcy to my list of woes.

For many people this will be just another week; a week where we will celebrate a 'new' world', which some-one said will start 22 December 2012; compliments of the Mayans or someboby who had no clue what they were talking about.

Believe it - for many people - this date will be a new beginning, whether for better or for worse - history will say.

The youngest sibling got hitched on the 17th, and as things go, the newly weds will land at their honemoon destination on the 21st, a new world for them to see.
May the new world and all the other worlds they see here after, be filled with wonderful sights to be seen, great moments to share, sweet words to be spoken, and great heights to reach.

Or else, let them, wear safety belts on crash landings, put a lock on the tongue and learn to be great diplomats,

For love and marraige are not for sissies.

And on the news - many poeople will start new beginnings - with little less understanding, with empty spaces in their lives, and facing a sad time, at this start of a great new world.

May God, or gods, or angels, or someone; bring the peace and serenity and joy and more good into this world.

And I would not mind getting a laptop. P.C's suck (I have evolved; tho, I am ploughing with another's oxen - so much better.)

As for the rest; the old world is in recess, having holidays, spending money, as the Jewish Holiday Season is near. (had to get that pun/joke in - sorry.)

This is the question.

The answer is; a rout, a walk; or an escargotoire.

It is not important to know, as herding a walk of snail is not a thing many people care to do.

The going rate at the moment is 55 yards per hour, on a good day. So I am told, as I have never bothered to take a snail for a walk.

Tomorrow is Friday, the week has not brought any positive facts, snippets, or important items to the table.

The lines are all out, and like a patient fisherman, I wait for a bite. Then I can reel the fish in, or whatever is on the other end.

A smiling shark may be quite likely, even a nasty crab, or a octopus trying to grab all it can.
I need lessons in doing sea-food.

Another poor snake passed by today, a Puff-Adder at that. Unfortunately, they are not very welcome here and they are potentially a threat to all.

So, as the good book advises, or as it says, it will bite his heel, and he will crush its head.

Still we have not forgiven the poor snake its betrayal - and as we are to forgive all those who has betrayed us.

Or am I getting things mixed up here?

The 'Green people' would advise one to relocate the snake to a save haven, where it can still serve mankind by getting rid of all those nasty pests like mice and rats.

Those 'Green people' are welcome to come collect them, then we do have this problem of how do we keep them till the 'Green' gets here. A conundrum as they say.

Each man has by the law of nature a right to such a waste portion of the earth as is necessary for his subsistence.
