It was by accident that I discovered Writing.Com and from then on, I kept logging in everyday since I first registered. Writing for me is something that doesn't wear out from my system. Like my faith, writing has become a daily habit and it is strengthened more and more as I exercise it. I am indeed happy and excited to be a part of Writing.Com.
I have had chronic fatigue syndrome all my life, and at age 39, I'm bored out of my mind. I just happened to come across this site and have posted some of the things I have written and published in the past. I have had immediate responses. It makes me feel like I exist again! And reading others' writing makes me feel like others exist, too! I'm so isolated and this has given me a community... a reason...
I have yet to read a testimonial that attests to the negative side of Writing.Com. I have read a gross of these things and no one's pen work does less than hand out five stars to this great site. So, I take it upon myself to set the record straight and register a fault, which I will put in the form of a question. Why is it that every time I log on to Writing.Com it takes so long for me to log off; sometimes hours? Please help me to understand.

I joined Writing.Com a year ago. It has grown to include so many new features since I signed on, all of which make it easier to use. The community of writers has been very supportive and has given some great feedback. Just recently, based on feedback I received for a poem, I decided to create a forum to gather poetry from Writing.Com members for publication. I received 11 entries for the book, 2 Writing.Com members offered to help me judge the entries and I received over 65,000 Gift Point donations for the project, all in less than a week! The spirit of writing lives!
I have been with Writing.Com for a few months now. I would like to thank you for allowing me to go through the site & read all the stories. It's great. I have always wanted to write stories, but never had the confidence to do it. Now after seeing all these stories I feel like I can also write. Thanks again for being there for me in tough times.
Writing.Com helped save my sanity, what I had left after teaching for twenty-five years. A friend wanted me to read some of her work on then Stories.Com. I looked, and I was hooked. After retiring because of health reasons, I needed a portfolio, a place to go to find myself. Writing.Com did that for me. Not only did I find a creative outlet for myself, I found wonderful new friends scattered all over the world. Thank you.
These words of praise are loooooooong overdue. What I like best about Writing.Com are the people. I've met some remarkable writers and made some very close friends here. I have only been registered on Stories.Com for a week or so. I’m addicted. For several years I have wondered around the Web stopping from time to time at sites for writers. Most are filled with writers complaining to each other or asking questions they should not ask of other writers. As an artist and writer who has designed and built many web sites I am blown away at the depth of the site and insight into the creative minds that drive it. You guys are worth every penny for membership and I’m putting a check in the mail for my upgrade. Thank you for making this a rewarding experience and plan to direct all my friends to your site.
I found Stories.Com a few months ago. It has been a great way to keep in touch with some writing friends who moved away. The site is a wonderful resource for feedback and support, I've become an addict! Congrats on your new web name Writing.Com and thanks for providing such an amazing site for writers!
A friend of mine whom some of you may know told me about Stories.Com. Grandma Penny is her name. Hanging out in this nice community with such good friends has really made me know that good people still exist, so now I just can't stay away. I'm visiting this nice neighborhood everyday. I love to write. I've been wanting to write for a long time now. I've been looking all over the internet for a place where I could write stories. I found it! Stories.Com! I love this site. It lets me write what I want and when I want. Thank you, Stories.Com, for being here and letting me be who I am.
I first came to Stories.Com in order to check out an old friend's portfolio. We no longer keep in touch but I will forever remember her for the gift she gave me by introducing me to this site! Never in my life would I have thought that such a wonderful place could exist for writers! I've received some of the most honest and insightful reviews of my work on this site and it's really helped me grow as a writer. Before joining I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my life, but now I'm positive that I want to be published and I want to teach creative writing. Stories.Com helped shape the person I hope to be. A special thanks to the StoryMistress and Master, without you guys a lot of people would be lost...
This is GOOD! Really GOOD! GOOD, GOOD, GOOD!
Like layers of an onion, I keep peeling away and finding more and more enjoyment in this community of wonderful authors. Infinite things to read, join in on, and write about. It is the most amazing site I have ever found. I have surfed the snowy slopes of the Internet. I have traveled near and far. I have gone where no man has gone before (hey, that's catchy!). I was weary of all the same old sites trying to sell me on something I had no intention of buying. If you do THIS then we'll do THIS... Finally I found a little piece of heaven here at STORIES.COM (and I immediately picked it up and put it back before anyone knew it was missing). My life has changed drastically. Now I no longer frequent the x-rated sites or the dating services. The 900 numbers and the enormous phone bills that followed. Now I am free and clean as I fill my mind with stories and musings of other worlds. Let me stand up and say, "My name is W.D.Wilcox and I'm an alcoholic" no wait...! What I mean is "God, I love this place. It's where a kid can be a kid." No, no, that's not right either. Anyway, if you've never tried it, you're in for the ride of a lifetime, 'cos Ford trucks are built tough! If you write... or can't write at all, or maybe can't even spell your name on certain days, this place is for you. If you love to read, or can't read anything, you'll love this place too, just watch the funny alphabet letters stand in straight lines. I tell you there is nothing on the internet quite like it, NOTHING!
It'll be almost 2 months since I was first introduced to Stories.Com, and I'm happy to say registering here has been worth my while. I have met some wonderful people, talented authors, helpful reviewers and, needless to say, this is my favorite site so far!
As a writer, it's rare for me to be at loss for words, but now, when asked to give my opinion on Stories.Com, I am. What can I say, besides.....I LOVE THIS SITE!!!! The amount of support I've gotten from my fellow authors here is just amazing, as are many of the stories, poems, and other works I've read on here. I never knew that mere words could have the power to entertain, to enlighten, and to bring people so close together, but they do, and this site is living proof of that. The means is simple, but the effect is truly awesome to behold. To me, Stories.Com is something of an online "foundling home," of sorts, for people like me, who get tagged as the "weird artsy kid." Here, you can use big words, or compare old people's skin to tree bark, and no one will ridicule you for it. I know I'll probably never get published, but I am so glad I found this site.
I discovered Stories.Com by chance, I idly typed www.stories.com in my IE search bar one day, and boom! I was bowled over by this lovely website. Only a few days on this community, and I felt like Neo, waking up from his dream into the real world, the exception being that Stories.Com is far more lovely than any dream ever will be! The people over here are caring beyond belief! They're all lovely souls. They've been through life, and they understand what it feels like. I must thank Dear StoryMaster and StoryMistress for giving us lost souls a dimension where reality and dreams intertwine and merge into one word : Perfection. Really, SM and SMs have to be the kindest, and most forgiving people, and it's a great honor when I say that I love your work, SM and SMs! This is really a great website. / Here's what we get: For the readers: The ultimate online library. There's something here for everyone here. No matter if your poison is horror, romance, religous, or even goofy humor, it's all here. / For the writers: the ultimate feedback center for your work. What's more, the feedback that you get is totally honest, and almost always, very helpful. / But Stories.Com is much more than just an online reading and writing website. It's a community, in the truest sense of the word. I've only been here for about three months, and it feels like I've been living here for a lifetime! There are so many good people here, in fact, the one wrong thing that I find over here, is that there are NO bad people! How can it be possible? How can everyone be so nice? If only the real world were so! If only the people that we knew were so kind! If you want to be part of the nicest, loving and caring community there is, you owe it to yourself to join this little abode on the web. I stumbled onto Stories.Com by accident. I was just looking for something to keep me awake while I tried to write a paper. Instead, I found the most wonderful, useful - amazing site online! I not only get to read stories by aspiring writers, I get to BE one of those writers! I never took my own writing seriously, never thought anyone would want to read it. Stories.Com has given me such confidence about writing - there is no way to adequately express my thanks and affection to all the wonderful people who make up Stories.Com. You guys are the best!

I have redeveloped a great love that has lain dormant in me for many years. This site has sparked such an enthusiasm in me! For so many years I have spent all my energies in my family and career; this is the first "hobby" I have taken time for myself! Thank you, Stories.Com for providing me with such a rewarding outlet. I happened on this site by total chance about a year ago. I was looking for a place where I could display my talent. Using excite's search engine Stories.Com came up as a hit and I've been a registered user ever since. I'm glad I found this place because if it wasn't for Stories.Com, I'd be sitting somewhere else doing next to nothing instead of working on my works and posting them for... THE WORLD to see. Thank you StoryMaster and StoryMistress for giving me and the world a place where they can publicly display their talents and become better writers.
I have been a member of Stories.Com for about 8 months and I'm very impressed. Not only am I inspired to write but I get feedback on what I write and I can share with other writers. I even have my 2 grandsons and granddaughter on as members and they enjoy writing too! They especially like getting the feedback on their creative pieces. Stories.Com is a brilliant idea!
Stories.Com has indeed been a blessing to me. For five years I tried to have my friends read my writing, but hardly ever, did I receive encouragement. Since March 13, 2001, my life has been blessed by this wonderful community. The people are so friendly and helpful when it comes to feedback. I've even found a home in the chat room.
