He said he'd be back, but he isn't
Tried to find you in the words of a stranger,
Had a good look at the bottom of my glass,
Echoes of your presence boom around me
Slivers from memory of your tender touch
Kisses in the moonlight, I miss so much
Your blue eyes searching mine for a sign
Imploring a yearning, a need, a deed
Souls were mirrored, matched and mated
Bodies followed suit, the ache abated
Life became easier and then you said you’d be back
Unexpected delays, you say, when you’re away
Embracing my aloneness, I look fixedly out the window, I wait
