A love poem filtered through Poe inspired imagery
Nevermore

Flying under radars, Rooks
Swooped low on chamber doors
Queuing up for rain checks, looks
Time counted, glanced in scores

Counting crows on ley lines long
On chakra points, we play
It's murder when the soul pines strong
Gleaned trinkets from the day

Such slivers, silver linings
Gathered, weaved through nests
Magpies wrapped in shinings
We strive to leave our best

Playing in veneers
Praying in our shells
In clouds we hide our fears
In nests we've made ourselves

Lined with bright things taken
Hoping they're enough
For all the things forsaken
To keep the interest up

Through lured innovations,
to let the right ones in,
To gain the invitations,
to other's nests... within

In shiny things so lathered
So vulnerable, exposed
Despite the bright things gathered
Some Jackdaws remain closed

With ravens stoic, stooping
Rapping, tapping for Lenore
In chambers closed, and looping
Stooping at a sealed door

Alas, some doors don't open
Some eyries are too high
With fears left unspoken,
and wings that just won't fly

Steeled for another night
Alone outside the door
in the dark, bereft of flight
Craved. Craven... Nevermore
