A short free form love poem I wrote in about 5 minutes while waiting for my ride to work.
We were dancing alone.
Surrounded by a sea of darkness,
except for the floods of light
emitting from the fires of your heart.
Dancing around it as if
we were part of the inferno.
Your dress, a bright crimson to match
my everlasting love for you.
And while your time here was short,
and your flame has now died out;
I'm walking away happy
knowing that in those short moments
no one on Earth felt as much joy
as I did.
And while your fires have diminished,
mine will always burn on.
