Sometimes there is no way to change a growing old problem.
My Future Darkness
I’ve been told I have a problem
My eyes will cease to see
The darkness will be forever
There’s no medicine or cure for me.
I’ll miss seeing my garden’s flowers
And all the colors they have proudly displayed
The clouds in the sky and rain that fell
Or the rainbow that the shower made.
I’ll try to remember the baby pictures
That showed me the boy I had
And the time he hit his first homerun
His father was more than glad.
The future is not for anyone to see
I hope that the best is for us all
I want to be watch you become a man
And be ready to take your place in City Hall.
