an ode to that domestic tool
Ramp flat and high enough
Cool damp cloth wrung and rough.
Valleys peaks and troughs extreme
All made even pure and clean.

Basket loaded sitting ready
Legs crossed standing make it steady.
Work shirts,denims, skivvies, socks
Rolled up gloves like softened rocks.

Press and move, crush the groove
Everything will be made smooth.
Cottons, woolens under the glide
Leveled steamer swoosh and slide.

Folded up and put away
Waiting for the next wash day.
The soul is full, the iron goes polar
Now to fetch the game controller.
