For someone who has to deal with Insomnia, can any relate?
Midnight.
Clocks are ticking.
Alarms silenced for the evening.
People in their beds sleeping.
Probably sweet dreaming.
While I'm wide awake thinking.
Thoughts.
Rolling through my mind.
Keep looking at the time.
People ask, I say I'm fine.
So stuck in this rut of mine.
Always feeling my life's on the line.
Slumber.
How impossible, and out of reach.
I've been through so much, I could teach.
I'm so used to the same old speech.
I'm still here, but would love the beach.
Sleep.
A wish, never to come true.
So hard for me, so easy for you.
They act like it's normal to do.
"Just close your eyes and count a few."
Slumber.
Oh, how I wish for the sweet sound
Of my deepened, slight breathing.
The bright-colored, heightened-beating dreams.
Slumber, will I ever get to experience you Slumber?
