My tribute to the color blue.

Some bright as yellow in the morning sun;
a slight magenta when the day is done.
God’s calling colors glow in spectrums true,
but sky and sea apply the breath of blue.

Blue pours its love when browns begin to break;
it rises quick when breakfast muffins bake.
As berries tempt the likes of me and you,
we slake a bit to know the taste of blue.

The orange and black of Halloween are sweet;
some red and green around a Christmas treat.
A rainbow cast as colorful so true,
yet sky and sea rely on Navy blue.

As indigo goes deeper than before,
the shades of blue azure us all the more.
When Levi stood to profit from his jeans,
it paid the price for lower body means.

Thin silver coins clink in a metal plate;
the bands of gold expect another date.
Metallica lets Sandman enter through;
oft sky and sea extend metallic blue.

When cobalt blue expressed another need,
it fell upon where hungry bluegill feed.
And when the movie blues pulled up a chair,
blue velvet was the choice of evening wear.

Thus pretty pink makes candles for the lass,
and gray is tear stains from a heart of glass.
Although the flesh encounters loud tattoo,
the sky and sea comply with lady blue.
