There’s nothing “Great” about war.
Single file the boys did march,
Away from home, warm and safe,
Aboard a ship the boys did sail,
Braving that turbulent sea.

Far away the boys did land,
Excitable lads, poor blind fools,
Off to war the boys did go,
To fill a trench, rifle in hand.

Over the top the boys did charge,
To meet their end, beside a friend,
Upon the ground the boys did lay,
Rotting away, day by day.
