I'm sure it was an honest mistake.
I cant breathe...
I cant move...
Why is everything going black?
I hear a voice. Large booming and deep.
"Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, "

"Please..." I beg
"Please listen to me..."
I feel my body being dragged into the darkness.
I feel a deep unease and fear wash throughout me

The voice continues...
I see its source, a large black figure that looks as though its made of sack cloth.
he appears to be reading from a bible, I'm assuming it's a bible.
I've heard the passage before, psalm twenty three
"I will fear no evil for you are with me"
"Why are you doing this? What did I ever do to you?"

"your rod and your staff they comfort me."
I see the dark figure still floating above me.
The darkness has become a thick tar and I can feel it covering my legs and slowly ascending.
its to my waist now as I look down and feel the warm darkness sticking to my very bones.

its up to my chest.
"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies"
Please listen I don't belong here I just fell asleep, I didn't even do anything!
the thick tar engulfs my nose and mouth. I can feel the thick warm syrup sticking
as it climbs down into my lungs.
"you have anointed my head with oil"

I look up pleadingly...
the figure quickly snaps the bible closed.
the dark tar stops rising.
"What?!, What is so important that you continually need to interrupt me??"
the tar spits out of my lungs. "you've made a mistake! I'm not dead!"
"listen here, everybody says that same line, what do you honestly think the chances are that there was some mistake? And its not really your time."

"I'm telling the truth though
don't you have some kind of record? Couldn't you tell me how I died then?"

If you insist!... ... ... its right here! You've lived a long full life and died at the ripe old age of
ninety nine, I mean honestly most people cant even say ninety you've lived well past your due as far as im concerned. And you even got to die peacefully in your sleep, I swear you people are always so selfish about these things..."

"but I'm not ninety nine, im not even twenty nine..."

"You are Geoffrey Smith?"
"Yes"
"this is 2088 AD isn't it?"
"No" I said respectfully not trying to anger this strange figure. "its 2018"
"... ... ..."

"sir?"
"I apologize for any inconvenience Mr. Smith I understand these things can seem
strange and frightening. And I assure you we will correct this mistake and rest assured
you will be rightfully compensated as soon as possible."

I woke up immediately, covered in a cold sweat.
it was still terrifying and felt fresh in my mind. Not hazy and dull like a dream.

but strangely enough. I felt... its hard to describe it... I felt like today was gonna be a good day.
