Contest "Pond Poetry" Wrapped Refrain Photo Prompt Nighttime in a snow covered park.
Since You've Gone

You could not stay, you left me cold,
alone in the dark season's hold.
A solitary bench sits stark
against a white snow covered park.
I'm frozen inside, holding my writing at bay,
barren Winter's reminder that you would not stay,

The lonely night yields not a sound,
the moon reflects off snow in rebound
and tree limbs hang low weighted down.
I walk in the square near downtown
to defrost my heart, hoping to once again write
and pour out my pain in verse on this lonely night.
