The beauty of desert landscaping
Water conserving landscapes
enhance suburban lawns
in greater Las Vegas.

Seductive succulents greet
cool desert mornings
scattering their perfume thought
gated communities.

Beauty
is the goal of the gardeners,
and the Southern Nevada Water District,
who encourage
planting a variegated arrays
of plants native to the Mojave Desert.

Red blossomed Cape Aloe
grow in walled terraces
along with spiny ribbed Golden Torch,
green Gopher Weed,
delicate sapphire-green
Blue Elf Aloe, and emerald sweet broom.

In front yards across the city,
two varieties of Lantana,
the yellow bloomed new golden
and the purple trialing,
assist the green leaved American agave
to add splashes of color.

Water conserving plants
beautify the city's suburbs
with their color and scent.
