He never grew feathers, and he never flew. In this life.


Beneath the Min-a-mins, buried deep,
A baby bird, unclothed, his soul to keep.
Now tightly tucked in Earth’s warm fold—
Safe from the rain that falls so cold—
He’s of the Earth, the stars—the sun:
His journey short, though never done.
