I was sipping on an ice cold beer at a Rodeo in Evergreen
When I heard a growl an I turned around
he was the biggest man I'd ever seen
He just stared at me an he moved his head
I stepped a side not a word was said
A cowgirl caught my eye 'n' ginned
said even some of them bulls are scared of him.

Cos when he's out there fighting bulls

He's tall and lean, scared 'n' mean

I listened to the cowgirl talk
as I reached and cracked another can
She told how her Daddy once killed a Hoss
with crashing blow from his big right hand
"So why don't we get wed tonight"
her Daddy wouldn't mind it'd be all right
Then I quietly slipped away
and moved to Alaska the very same day.

I just received a shakily written note
from a guy I knew in Evergreen
The words I read said he just got wed
to a cowgirl pretty as a Carny Queen
He talked about his Maw-in law
and how she had once killed a man
Her Daddy is a great big son-of-a-bitch
eats whole cows and looks like Desperate Dan
