Describes the long weekend signaling the end of summer - a poem.
Uniquely meaningful, while serving
As a time-honored tradition,
Labor Day peers provocatively down
Our annual ledgers towards the joyous days of Fall.
Like a lucky rabbit's foot,
It signals Autumn's natural beauty
And mild climatic regimes;
And waves an unfortunate farewell
To the glorious, active days of summer,
While launching us in every other possible direction...

With Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas approaching,
Our yearlong education
And advancements succinctly and passionately
Roll over, and on,
To a new and sophisticated body
Of morals, ethics, and ideology;
As seen in our ever-growing plans
To engage and nurture this society
Of increasing scope and voraciousness.

Our family and friends relive the joys
And heartaches of another passage
Of forever-intermingled escapes...
