A House Elf

House elves aren't just for housework.
They might cook, and clean your shirt,
but they've got feelings, too.

Do unto others as you would yourself,
the saying goes,
so why not to a house elf, too?

They may not seem human,
nor look like you,
but what can't they do, that you can?

You've hardly lifted a finger
unless to point or command.

The elf's story is much like Cinderella's,
only, there's no ball for them at the end.

No happy ending, unless you deem it so.

But are you so lazy that you won't?
