A girl awaits for her crush to finally notice her
Every Monday I walk in to work,
With a little dread for the week ahead,
But a little hopeful.
I sit down at my desk and sip on my coffee,
Hoping you'll look at me, but you never do.
So I just wait and think of you,
Still dreaming, still hopeful, hopeful.
On Tuesdays I try again.
I don't let myself beat down.
I hope again that a better day will come.
Is that a glance I see? Did I catch a glimpse of a smile?
Oh, but perhaps it wasn't my way.
Never mind, I'll try again in a while.
On Wednesdays I'm a little beat down.
I already don't know what to wear.
Do you even notice how I do my hair?
Thursdays... well what do I say? Thursdays are a drag.
I just wait for the long week to be over
So I no longer have to put up an act.
I hate small talk.
Fridays, I'm barely there. I've really given up.
I know you'll never love me back,
So I pick up my bag, ready to go home.
Then you say “Hi, Margot!"
And it all just settles down.

You couldn’t have done this on a Monday?
