A human being not often found
She was flawless within her imperfection,
wildly beautiful despite the naysay of her inner monologue.
Of course, the dying world created dying eyes,
and the heavyset of the Earth's billions
has made our eyes blind to such a rarity.

She hated herself for these very reasons
but twisted the phrases in her head,
saying she was unwanted rather than misunderstood,
saying she was a black sheep rather than a diamond in the rough.
It was my life's purpose to distinguish the differences.

her red was bold,
her green was honest,
her blue was triumphant
her yellow was soul-seeking.
But she told me they were just colors.
