An atmospheric poem
Rain Falling
Rain falling. Birds calling.
Bats flapping across backyard.
Dusky grey sky leads into early night.
Tropical delight, this is Cairns tonight.

In the world abroad they are still squabbling
Over Palestine. The American President
Is a Russian spy
Stirring up a shit storm,
Rolling back freedoms
That once made America
Great.

There will be consequences:
Rains may get stronger
Droughts longer, fires
More ferocious, here.
Radiation is already seeping
East across the Pacific.
Mutations will increase chances
Of survival for the Planet. M.P. 16/02/17
