The tree just outside the window turned a bright pink in the early spring.
The Flowering Crab

Outside the window is my favorite thing,
it stands tall, weathered and it's nurturing,
in spring its buds come out under the moon,
to my surprise petals came out in bloom,
I'll get my loppers out, give it a groom.
Now looks majestic just like many kings.

Within the growing tree some birds would sing,
a rope is hanging down to hold my swing,
I pump my feet which always made it zoom,
one time I jumped off fell onto mushroom.
It’s better than sitting around my room,
just down below its bows I play with sling.

Right beside the tire which says pirelli,
in early fall, its fruit becomes so fair,
to pick it, have to reach into the air,
I think I'll make a jar, crab apple jelly.

To put in my mouth and a friends belly,
we'll sit under the shade that it would share,
or fall asleep on hammock without care,
until the apples get rotten and smelly.
