By the window a table for two I had chosen a cosy corner for me and my friend, and the table was dressed with pretty flowers vibrant blue. We sit there having endless conversing for an hour or two.

Sadie waited at the table for her friend and wondered if she was coming and she ordered tea. She was just about to phone her from her cell phone and she looked up to see who approached the table and the waitress placed the cup of tea on the table.

"Hello my dear, do you mind if I join you? I'm all sixes and seven since Joe died''.
"You do know he is dead?"

"No I didn't"

" Yes it's six months now, he went out to the shops and died in the shop. I didn't realise just how much I relied on him."

It was this point of the conversation, I just listened to her tale, and her good memories, of where they went on holiday together, and their future plans.
' I have not had such a bad life, and I mustn't grumble.'
She picked her shopping bag up and bade me farewell;
" I will see you around Massie."
"Massie! Who is Massie?" And I realised she had mistaken me for someone else.
I left the tearoom feeling better in myself, because without knowing it, I had taken the time to listen to someone's troubles instead of dwelling on my own
