A poem about the wet and rainy ride to our homely destinations.
Thousands of drenched autos and trucks
hit the region’s roads
during the sloshy commute,
barreling through poor visibility and traction
to reach their destinations during the deluge.

Aware of the slippery conditions
plaguing the roadway on this busy day,
many commuters slow to a much more moderate speed,
while others drive at a quicker pace,
ignoring the speed limits and other safety concerns.

Although bad road conditions often seem a dog
whose bark may be worse than its bite,
a horrible disaster could be avoided -
not seeing - or a distraction - could lead
to damage or injury,
and a clean up or repairs
which could last several grueling weeks...
