Fond memories of my favorite episode of “Star Trek.” (Humor)
A Trilling Adventure

Think of a singing ball of bright fur;
one having a bad-hair day.
Unlikely heroes, who like to purr,
that save us from Klingon foul play.

Discovered and smuggled by Cyrano Jones,
a rascal out after a buck,
he gifts one to Uhura and soon, even Bones,
is impressed – until they run amok.

The trouble with tribbles, come to find out,
are their procreative tendencies.
Even fabled rabbits at their most devout
can't multiply with such ease.

Did I mention they eat and they never get full
and they soon fill the Enterprise?
Even James Kirk wonders how he will pull
this one out ... and then, the surprise!

It turns out the Klingon's, up to bad deeds,
had poisoned the load that was carried;
a precious cargo of hybrid wheat seeds
was the reason that they tarried.

The tribbles, however, had eaten that too
and soon the foul deed became clear.
The plans of the Klingons never came true;
all they got was a kick in the rear!

The tribbles were praised for saving the day,
salvation delivered zoological.
"All's well that ends well," Kirk was heard to say.
Spock's retort: "Why it all seems most logical!"
