A Truer December

My love is like the sea,
waves eternally churning,
washing you back to me,
a vision far too lovely
for these weary eyes to see.

But your eyes are a window
to a whole new world for me.
Opening them wide,
I look upon us in eternity;
a dream to keep by my side.

What we have are not promises;
no holding on to expectations.
We live for now and bide our time
until we can share in truer relations.

Stay happy for me,
and please remember,
a time will come when
I'll be back for my love
in a truer December.
