Deny the Heart

 

The heart holds answers,
         if you explore.
                   But questions grow old and die,
         when denied entry.

The passage to that beating rhythm
         leads past a soul,
                   empty, seeking lasting fulfillment,
an endless hole.

         I can see right through you
                   to a fertile place,
as expansive as a sea rolling you
         eternally back to me.
