David Small's memoir details his childhood in 1970s Detroit where he was regularly treated for a variety of ailments with 'radiation therapy' by his doctor father and eventually developed cancer.

Anyone with an interest in memoir graphic novels, especially ones of a medical or psychological subject matter.

The black and white watercolor illustrations set the tone for a melancholy story.

The lack of character development, especially in two of the most important characters- the parents. Pages and pages of wordless illustrations could have been better used to build the characters and plot.

Know more about the background of the main character's parents and what life was like for him in more detail. The book reads as a quick overview of a traumatic childhood rather than a memoir.

Sad for the author and the childhood he experienced.

It was an interesting, quick read.

The book spares most details and leaves you with more questions than answers.
