I think it's pretty good! I have just a few suggestions. I will write it out again and change a few words that will make more sense. It doesn't sound weird at all-just a few small mistakes.
“My boy wanted to watch The Black Superhero from the comic book, and I wanted to watch Tomb Raider. It seems like we could not come to an agreement, even though I reminded him the Angelina Jolie version was filmed at Ta Prohm temple in Cambodia we visited last summer. (Not sure Alicia will be as brilliant as Angelina) Ultimately, no movie this weekend.”
