Re: submitting a technically inaccurate story
Fiction: Something (as a story) invented by the imagination. (The Merriam-Webster Dictionary)
Is you tale a work of fiction? If so, write what you like. At least 95% of everything I write is a work of fiction. When possible I use facts and reality, but reality does not always work. Do you have characters with amazing abilities? If so, absolute truth may not work. As a writer (and reader) I realize it is necessary to bend the truth. In stories often times police officers do not behave as their real world counterparts. Doctors preform miracles real doctors could never accomplish. Write what you enjoy. If your friend does not approve, he/she does not have to read it.
