What you have all been waiting for... me ranting about first world problems.
Hey ! I'm G. Goughnour. a teenager who loves to write. Unfortunately, I also have high school, a social life, and sleeping to balance. So it's not always easy. I'm also a teenager in the twenty first century, think your high school years were tough ? You haven't see anything yet.

NOOOOOOOOO! I'm back in school. I love it when other students come in a whiny voice and say, "I don't want to be here." Yeah okay like any of us want to be here, teachers included. We're all mopping around, running on coffee, and trying not to cry. Again teachers included, especially the ones under forty. Those are the ones running on pure Starbucks. Those teachers are also the ones who are wearing Uggs, leggings, a sweater, and a colorful scarf. They are also the ones trying to be cool. This is the time of year, when my inspiration starts picking up, I already have several book ideas decent enough to write down, and a bunch more that didn't make the cut. Usually it's because right now it's cold and wet, and teachers don't feel like giving as much homework. (A.K.A. they're tired too) . I'm recharged (sort of) and ready to go (sort of).

Ahh, sweet freedom! Or so I thought, unfortunately for me, the school's basketball team has practice all week. Which means surprise, surprise, I have to go to these practices, and sit there working the clock. Well there goes my break. Anyway, Christmas time is almost here, I've finished the Christmas shopping and getting the itty-bitties what they wanted. I can't wait to sit back relax, and watch their faces light up in joy. Good luck with the shopping...

Tonight I was tucking in my little sister of three, when she admitted she was scared of the dark. When I was little, I was afraid of the dark too. I wasn’t scared of the actual dark, as most children will tell you if you ask, I was afraid of what lurked in it. Even as a teenager a piece of me is still scared of the dark. Though now I am not scared of imaginary monsters, I’m scared of real ones. For a short teenager girl like me, someone hitting on me is the least of my problems.

In our society today, is it right that I have a fear of the night as a teenager. A fear of what might happen to me if my friends and I go to the movie theatre or a restaurant. The night holds so many possibilities, but instead I have to hide in the shadows because of fear of those who fear the light.

So if you’re a guy, just understand, the night is something women fear, not because of the dark, but because of the things that lurk in the dark. Try not to be one of them.

So, exams, everyone has them if you are in high school or collage. Well let me just say for the record , they suck. I hate them, from the minute you walk into school, til the minute you walk out of an exam, it's just a stress filled bubble. People are trying to cram in as many facts as possible the hour before the exam. Then in the actual exam room, you can literally feel people freaking out because they don't know the answer. I personally don't get stressed about exams, until I get to school. I then start to get worried, because I feel like I should be worried. Then I get stressed and it is just a never ending cycle. However, I usually don't mind exams other then that. I get a half day, I'll grab lunch with my dad, and then go home and study. Then the exams aren't that bad. It's just a very large test if you think about it. No my problem comes in when there is other people in the room right before the exam, whispering definitions under their breath, or prayers, if they forgot to study. People trying to read five chapters at once. Not the best. So from all of us out there who don't get stressed by exams, people, get a hold of yourselves. You are actually more likely to do poorly on exams if you are stressed then if you aren't. If you need some help, I suggest chocolate. If that doesn't work then pray to Jesus

Morale: Chocolate is the answer to almost everything (and if it isn't the answer, then Jesus is the answer)

24 days til Christmas. Yay! Now, the only problem I have at Christmas is what to ask for. I have all I really need, and I feel bad asking for stuff I'm never going to use. Yet, I don't like getting plain cash. Let me tell you, if you are someone shopping for a teenager, please check their list! Or if you are a parent, and you can't get your children to make a list, use Amazon to get them to make a wishlist. It's a super easy way to make sure you get your kid exactly what they want.
Phone wise, I'm struggling though. I still have a 5s. It runs okay. However, it won't accept IOS 11, and my parents won't get me a new one. I have had this phone for three years now, going on four soon. I was nice, I got a 5s instead of 6 because it was cheaper for my parents, but do they care...nope. So now I either have to come up with a ton of money, or run a a marathon. Guess who is gonna hit the gym!

So, I have two weeks before exams... two weeks. Then I am as free as a bird, ready for the holidays. Christmas is on it's way. Yet I'm stressing out. Teachers are shoving study guides down my throat, students are freaking out, and I have three basketball games to film for the team during the exams. Teachers are trying to wrap up everything. Juniors are filling out college applications. I am trying to fit in my writing. However it's hard to get creative influence when you are stressed out. However I love this time of the year. Cheer is in the air. People wishing each other Happy Holidays. My little sisters are making their Christmas lists and sending them to Santa. So go out! Spread the Christmas cheer, believe me, it'll help the stressed out students!
