Simple stuff, really. Musing uncharacteristically challenged. BLog
My favorite thing about the PDG is that I get to be a squatter in the Student Lounge, otherwise known as Charlotte’s Lounge. I didn’t really have much choice because there is this Dragon that captured me and makes me do her bidding, you know. I really don’t have to even keep the place clean except to occasionally delete some links that get shut down. I certainly enjoy being surprised by others who come in and move things around and even update things. Not just any Paper Doll Gang member can make changes there, I believe they have to be a level 13 or above, meaning they have to be at least a Junior Leader in the group. The newbies who go through the Lounge are all important, though most only ever post once there and never again. That is okay too. We all have our lives to live. It is like I am sitting on the front porch waving hello to every passerby. Most times, I get a friendly hello and almost never a goodbye. Occasionally, I will run a contest for Charlotte and a few of the passersby’s will stop in for a bit and play a short game. I try not to get into anything too elaborate. People do get upset when the rules are too complicated. I don’t want upset people!

So I do require gp’s upon occasion, but not too often. Charlotte likes the shiny things becoming one with her scales. There is a special ritual that I am willing to share with you that allows me to get gp’s from the group leader. Here it is:
Nope, I take it back. the ritual is too precious to share.

So, this about covers my most favorite thing about the PDG; I like greeting people and watching them go on to more fame. Yep, there it is!

So, I was thinking, well, thinking in my own sort of way, and I imagined that I was able to take an existing, gaming world and re-write the story. Once the story has been told, it isn't as much fun to play the game again. However, if the story changes some, it is almost like a whole new game! A huge amount of hours is spent creating these awesome games and it is a shame they get put on a shelf somewhere and forgotten. Especially since they were so fun to play anyway. This could become a fan based genre! Now, imagine if games can cross over to other worlds once they are beat? Computers will be able to do this too. How much fun this will be!

One thing about games that has always annoyed me: I don't like being forced to go in a certain direction or come to a path I can't take. That is annoying.

I am blogging here. I am trying to keep up with it and not fail! I tried blogging once before but I couldn't capture anyone's interest. So, I am merely doing this for myself and simply writing....Writing, Writing...

Funny thing today. We went to a birthday party at Home Depot and I went shopping while the wife took the boys into the play room for the party. I made it through about half the store looking at stuff when they came to get me. It had been an hour and a half and they were ready to go already! Home Depot is a great store to shop in, I admit. Who would think to have a birthday party there? It is free and they offer building projects and free stuff to boot. How is that not a good thing?

So, on the way to work this morning, I was thinking how very interesting people really are and how very adventurous a profile they make. I've heard it many times when people make fun of the way people look, or smell or anything that would get others to agree with 'THEM'. (Red Rover, Red Rover...) It feels good to be socially acceptable and honorable. Not so good to be an outcast.

(We are going into the future with wonderful technological advances just waiting to be available to us and it is exciting!)

Avatars are available, or will be, that will give us all a sort of freedom to imagine ourselves as an author might imagine us to be. Certainly, our freedoms will become less as we are then left to our imagination. This is in part why it will never work to have ONE WORLD POWER: (Red Rover...) it is us against them. This is our tribal mindset.

Louis L'amour, I grew up reading his work. I used to go to the bookstore just to buy another of his books once I saved up enough to buy one, that is. So many authors I haven't really read much since I was a kid. Edgar Rice Boroughs Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clark, just to name a few. Later I would wonder how Arnold would fair against Tarzan but it would never be a fair fight. Tarzan would win every time so long as the technology was kept at a minimum. The thing that both characters have is an expected surprise. At some time, both characters will wrap their thews of steel around another unsuspecting character and surprise them with their power and savagery. It isn't the one liners, though they certainly make the expected surprise more memorable, but it is just knowing what is coming that keeps people interested, I think. Are you ready for this? Their is one other character of old that combines the strengths of both these characters and takes it to a whole 'nother level. Doc Savage. I will say no more, just yet.

I wrote this to the Romance Newsletter of WDC:

Defining love can be quite illusive, I agree. I think the answer might be found in common with those things capable of Love, meaning similarities of animals and humans, as I believe animals are indeed capable of love. Perhaps love is the ability to drool at what one desires even when what is desired is not present? What I am suggesting is that love is capable of changing meaning as one applies it to different life forms.

Ya, I didn't write it in pink letters but I thought it apt to do so now. I wanted to write further about plants loving too but my point was already made so I left the statement as it was. I did desire to write this very same statement to all the other newsletters, changing only small things to make it apply to the other newsletters. Imagine how little I would have to change this statement for the Horror Newsletter? Or the adventure???

I go on.

Getting ready for a local craft show that is a big event in my area. Lots of crafters and a two day show. It's about a hundred dollars for a spot, one year in advance. How's that? Business, I suppose. My Wife is the smart one; I am just a mule.

I was just reading how to make breads out of a breast-cancer awareness cook book. Looks pretty easy but then they almost always make it look easy. I had made French bread for my boy at his first communion, so I have a little experience with breads. Oh, did I mention homemade cinnamon rolls? Yum! They just melt with gooey buttery goodness that turns one's cheeks into pleasure river mode.

I found myself listening to a buzzing sound that seemed to be coming from a box, a cardboard box. Of course, when I stuck my ear to it, I looked up and there was the mother of all wasps nests right above my head. Well, I sprayed a whole can of wasp spray on it over four different times during the day because the things wouldn't quit. After that didn't work and I am surprised/annoyed that didn't work, I sprayed up a mixture of termite/ ant spray. That didn't work either! I don't mind the critters in the wild but not in my shed! I might be a little more bent on the destruction of bees of that sort because I have had reactions to their stings on more than one occasion. Not fun.

Oh, same day, I was out splitting wood from a tree that was dead and needed cleaning up, when I looked down to this annoying buzzing at my feet. Bees! Hundreds of them swarming out of the ground an swirling at my feet. Okay, survival rate not looking good so I get out quickly without drawing too much attention to myself. IT was a great day, I didn't get stung!

I am wondering though, how is it these bees are immune to bee killer? The spray is a good spray, or I thought it was. I really don't like spraying any more than I have to but some parts of nature has to be kept back a bit. That is the way it is. I am more careful with the poisons, preferring the "Green" solution in ways I might never have some years ago. I dream about ways to produce food practically on "Life Ships" traveling to distant stars. When things begin to make sense, that is when things become important. Hmmm.

So, what did I get from this day? A new beginning for my book! Yep, I have a character on a Life Ship, and she is going to brave the stinging bees for the unknown prize. It had more adventure that would also flavor the rest of the book with what is to be expected. Sound cool? Lots of work to do. Lots of work, to do.

Trip to the Ann Arbor went well. Got to see a lot of doctors in a day. One thing I found most interesting is that my boy does not have Cranial Nasal Dysplasia. Genetics is a confusing thing. So, the boy, the wife, and I are going to get full genetic testing done to see just what disease this is. Frustrating to know he has this problem and suddenly it was always something else!

Oh, and genetics said they have the power to check everything with one sample of blood. I think the chosen few are going to have their genetic make-up saved for some future day when those of us who have had their genetic makeup saved will be brought back to save mankind via a seed ship...Whatever, I am writing about it and that is what is important. I think? Maybe.

Perhaps this is wishful thinking to think that the powers that be can have a plan, that works. It was a different hospital, but one time my boy had his blood retested and they found out he was actually a girl! Uhm, wrong blood people. The best of plans sour given the opportunity for mistakes.

Big trip to Ann Arbor tomorrow to visit with a bunch of different doctors in regard to my son. Once a year check up to see where he is at and that includes genetics! So many people deal in concepts way more complex than I will every likely be able to understand in this lifetime without cybernyzing myself. Is that not a cool word? My dictionary didn't recognize it! See, I am getting a bit smarter with age.

I wonder how many of them people imagine the creation and destruction of worlds and empires on a daily basis? Hmmm. No, it isn't a comparison. I am really happy to have people, doctors and nurses and secretaries and such, people who choose to help people in need, such as my son and me through my son. Oh, a big round of applause for all people out there. Let's find a way to get along and a way to not get along without mental or physical harm.

I certainly don't go as much as I should and this hasn't changed throughout my lifetime. I was thinking today that it used to be important to silently brag because I had verses memorized, but now it is not important to me. How do you silently brag? You do this by making it a point not to look at your bulletin, then make eye contact with others who are also doing the same. It is silliness, I admit. I am not one to gather attentions from others but I have a boy that likes his attention from his parents by proudly admitting he went potty in the toilet once in every church session. So, I get attention. Plenty. I suppose, what it all boils down to is understanding. With understanding, embarrassment has no power over me. Good think I am loosing my mind! Okay, I open my mouth and things just spew out, honest!

Who out there has understanding? Those who do, like this post twice!
