Simple stuff, really. Musing uncharacteristically challenged. BLog
My favorite thing about the PDG is that I get to be a squatter in the Student Lounge, otherwise known as Charlotte’s Lounge. I didn’t really have much choice because there is this Dragon that captured me and makes me do her bidding, you know. I really don’t have to even keep the place clean except to occasionally delete some links that get shut down. I certainly enjoy being surprised by others who come in and move things around and even update things. Not just any Paper Doll Gang member can make changes there, I believe they have to be a level 13 or above, meaning they have to be at least a Junior Leader in the group. The newbies who go through the Lounge are all important, though most only ever post once there and never again. That is okay too. We all have our lives to live. It is like I am sitting on the front porch waving hello to every passerby. Most times, I get a friendly hello and almost never a goodbye. Occasionally, I will run a contest for Charlotte and a few of the passersby’s will stop in for a bit and play a short game. I try not to get into anything too elaborate. People do get upset when the rules are too complicated. I don’t want upset people!

So I do require gp’s upon occasion, but not too often. Charlotte likes the shiny things becoming one with her scales. There is a special ritual that I am willing to share with you that allows me to get gp’s from the group leader. Here it is:
Nope, I take it back. the ritual is too precious to share.

So, this about covers my most favorite thing about the PDG; I like greeting people and watching them go on to more fame. Yep, there it is!

This is my 100th and final blog posting. I had to delete a post in order to post this last, final post. Yep. I am retiring from the business of blogging. Who knows? I might be inspired to begin another. Not this one. This one is dead to me. Six generations back, so to speak. Likely, I will soon delete it completely. Never to be seen again. The blogging dream will be undone. It's webbing snapped as it looses connection with her massive following minions...Peace out. Click.

I had a dream. Wait. Is that line taken? No, really. I had a dream. I was in the Marine Corps. (I was never in the Marine's) I was drafted for boot camp and we were all given locks with keys. Somehow, my key came up missing and I couldn't change clothes and I knew there would be serious problems if I admitted I couldn't get into my locker, but we, my teammates and I, figured to keep this to ourselves and volunteered cleaning materials and such so no one would know about my missing key. Great teamwork! I found out later that the missing key was meant to make an example of someone to help intimidate the rest of the troupe. Phooey on them! Somewhere in the middle of the dream, I found myself counseling a younger member of our team. He wanted to quit but I remember talking him out of it. The only person who can make him scared is himself. Learn to fake being scared and grin about it later. LOL Where does this come from? It was a very intense dream. The details were awesome! WHY was I the old person with a bunch of youngsters?

My son's birthday today. Thirteen, he gets his own room. I made hanging bed for him. The couch he plans to replace with his birthday money. Wish I had that when I was a kid. It was about $140 in wood and material. Wow! That is expensive. The space saving incentive is what makes it worth it.

I made a hanging bed!

Blogging two days in a row? Something is wrong with me! I had to, though, because I am making home made pizza! From scratch! Yum! Lot easier getting it from the professionals but mine have elbow grease in them. Uhm, not literally. My oldest is not going to have any pizza so there should be some left once we finish supper! Then, I can possibly take some to work tomorrow.

My wife's been texting non-stop to my boy who is out on a church mission trip out of state. He finally told her to stop. Serves her right but I won't tell her that. My advice for my boy going down was that even when he wasn't in a good mood, fake it. He would get a better response from people in general. This was all I could think of for advice. Hope I wasn't wrong.

Oh, I am making homemade bread from scratch too! Well, cheating a bit by using the bread maker. Just throw all the ingredients in and let it go. Using coconut oil instead of vegetable oil. Last time I did that the bread came out less baked. I liked it. I had to make bread because we ran out. Good to make fresh sometimes, though.

Today is a big day. My first born son is heading out on his first mission trip 10 hours from home and will be gone all week. Poor boy! Life without most electronics will likely alter his views on life in general. It will do him good. Yep, no family with him either. It is a big day.

Yesterday, I found myself sharpening 144 pencils because there was a box of unsharpened pencils there. Now, they are all sharpened! Yay! It will be more difficult to find lost pencils that way.

I discovered while hanging a kitchen light (Three way) that I needed an extra hand to hold the light while I wire it up. It so happened that I had an 8" bolt with a hook on the end and realized it fit through the center of the light I was putting up and would hold onto the electrical box so I could free my hands up to wire the wires together. I should have taken a picture. I felt like a genius! No one in my home family was impressed so I called my Mom and she was dutifully impressed. Then, she said she had some wiring for me to do at her house. I am always up to help mom out but I was wondering if my moment of genius-ness was a quickly passing thing. My mom is the real genius!

Bullying. Yep, I am going there. I will express my opinion of bullying and admit I may be off the mark, so please, take my words with a grain of salt, so to speak. Let me say this: Live to fight YOUR fight another day. This should cover the harsher side of bullying.

I have a boss that is a bully and I have managed to work with him for nearly twenty years now. I've been mad enough to quite several time, but didn't. I know that it is difficult to think when emotional, so I make it a point to limit my responses when under duress. Lately, he has been being friendly and I have been listening as best I can. I know his people skills are directly proportional to what ever level of stress he perceives from moment to moment. I have watched him blow up on a moments notice on many an occasion. Here it is: compliment his ego non-aggressively. This is how I lasted so long in his department. Little things like offering the perception of trust will tweak his ego and I know this. Yes, not all bullies are the same.

Perhaps the hardest thing for me in dealing with my bully of a boss was to learn not to hate. Hate tears at the soul and makes for bad feelings. I feel that whatever emotions we present does effectively become us. Ooooh, the are all good lines! Okay, maybe not all, but there is something here to be worked with!

Okay, I wanted to scribble out a few lines on this subject and here it is. Perhaps someday I will do more. Feel free to add any comments or none. Thanks for reading and I truly meant no harm to any.

Yesterday, I noticed a fellow employee looking out of sorts and I asked her if she was alright and she said she was but upset about her son. I didn't inquire, just asked if there was anything I could do. She said to just keep being happy and smile. Today, I asked how her son was doing and she said, "He's dead." Yep, awkward. Apparently, he died some time ago but this was camping season and she missed him more than usual. Sometimes ignorance is blissful. Sometime being ignorant gets one to ask the questions they shouldn't ask. Back to chipper, now.

I put a birthday card in my wife's purse on her birthday a week ago. She called me today and asked when I put it there. I said I was just trying to determine how much stuff really didn't need to be in her purse and I have a good idea now. Yep, I will pay for that.

I was in church, listening to my pastor give his sermon and he was talking about a confirmation student who knew all about all the pagan gods and goddesses and my boy raises his hand and declares it was him. Hmmm. Why were the pews suddenly not nearly big enough to hide in? That's my boy.

Yesterday, I was supposed to get some work done around the house, but I kept finding things that needed to be done like sharpening pencils and such. Why does stuff like that happen? I have theory. I do.

I just found out that I can create polls in my videos on YouTube. Awesome! Not that I really create a lot of videos, not really. Not a professional, not at all. Here is a YouTube vid of my boy wishing his Mother a happy Mother's Day: The poll pops up about half-way through the video. Please take a second to answer the question. Thank you! The video is unlisted. You might guess that it is my voice prompting my boy along, and you wouldn't be wrong. Kind of poetic.

In church today, I heard a child tell the pastor in front of the whole church for the strength to run away on his wedding day. What did he want from Jesus? (was the question.) He was only five or six. Some are naturally smarter than others, right?

Forced writing in my camp NaNoWrimo drew me into a sort of scene I do not normally write in my stories but I felt it would help my character. I wrote this line: I heard her cry my name and I couldn’t even remember my name.

I am a bit embarrassed about how slow I write. I am having fun, though. That is what it is all about: plug your nerves into an electrical socket with the power on and start writing till the pain isn't so bad, then take a break until the pain can be fresh again! Or, something like that. I mean this figuratively, not literally, of course. Causing real pain is wrong, very wrong.
